Whilst undergoing chemotherapy treatment at North Manchester General Hospital, Anja, eager to help others as always, declared that she wanted to attempt to break the Guiness World Record for continuous drumming, to raise money for Ward J5, a dream which she sadly never had the opportunity to fulfil. The Memorial Foundation was inspired by Anja’s generous nature, with the aim of helping her dream to live on. Set up by Anja’s dad John Barnacott, her family, friends and The Tameside Music Academy. The Foundation hopes to raise as much money as possible in memory of this amazing young girl. The organisers are hoping to raise this money in a manner befitting Anja’s bubbly personality, with this first main event, a band night at Club Academy in Manchester on the 14th May 2010.
As Anja was a close family friend and known by all to AJES employees as a regular summer employee, AJES has decided to sponsor the event and T-shirts to help maximize the donations going straight into the fund. Please feel free to donate or attend the function at www.anjabarnacottmemorialfoundation.org
